Individual Retreats

For those wishing to get away for a personal retreat we have a few options. There is generally no formal guided element to individual retreats. They are personal times of reflection and prayer in which guests can share in our live here in Holy Family Mission. Please note that availability varies depending on group bookings and their requirements. We have accommodation in the Main House, Lodge or Deluxe Cabins.

Main House or Lodge

Glencomeragh house was built in 1820 and extended in the early 20th century. It is aesthetically beautiful and evokes peace and tranquillity: perfect conditions to meet the Lord!

The “Lodge” is a new building built in the 1980s with 8 en-suite bedrooms. It is all on the ground floor and therefore easily accessible.

  • We welcome everybody to Glencomeragh but request that visitors have regard for our ethos.

  • Visitors are welcome to attend our daily church services should they wish to do so.

  • The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, freezer/fridge, oven, four electric rings, toaster, kettle, tea and coffee making facilities and a washing machine.

  • Our living space includes a dining table, coffee table and sofa bed.

  • Below the cabin we have stunning grounds, which boasts of a waterfall, a beautiful boardwalk, numerous ponds and relaxing short walks.

Group Retreats

Public Retreat Groups

These retreats may be lead by external organisations/individuals or by HFM. We are happy to host genuine Catholic retreats guided by people from outside HFM and which are open to the public. The number of people we can cater for varies and we have hosted groups of up to 75 people if they are willing to share bedrooms.

Contact us at info@holyfamilymission.ie to check availability and rates.

Private Retreat Groups

Many private groups book in to stay at Glencomeragh House. In this instance, the organising group advertises the retreat, handles the booking arrangements and arranges the programme for the event. Attendance is by invitation of the organisers rather than being open to the public.
